Meet Our Harbor East Dentists

Dr. Kelly Betts, DDS

Dr. Betts recently joined our team in 2018, but she actually has more than a decade of experience working in the dental field. Dr. Betts worked as both an expanded functions dental assistant and registered dental hygienist prior to seeking her doctoral degree. Dr. Betts has used her unique experience in the dental field to work closely with each individual patient, helping them achieve their best possible smile and improve their oral and overall health. She is dedicated to making the dental care experience enjoyable and even fun, while educating and empowering every patient she treats.

Completing her undergraduate studies at the Ohio State University, Dr. Betts went on to earn a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Towson University. She continued her education, entering doctoral studies at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she earned her doctor of dental surgery degree. She then completed a comprehensive General Practice Residency at the Washington, DC Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center where she completed advanced training in dental implants, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and prosthodontics. She has also been certified in Botox treatment and has completed training in hard and soft tissue laser dentistry. As a dedicated member of the dental field, Dr. Betts maintains membership in a number of professional organizations, including the, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy for Sports Dentistry, The Pankey Institute, as well as several study clubs.

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Betts now resides in Federal Hill with her wonderful husband Matt and their border collie, Miles. They have spent the last decade making Baltimore City their home. She loves spending time with her family and friends and when she’s not hard at work, Dr. Betts enjoys theatre, playing and watching sports, cooking, working on house projects, and music. In fact, she grew up playing in her family rock band, where she, her siblings and her father would perform at festivals, nursing homes, and other local events! She and her family are still known to have impromptu jam sessions during holidays and other family get-togethers.
